Generative AI is a class of AI algorithms and techniques that generate new, original content that imitates the characteristics of a given dataset. In other words, generative AI algorithms are able to create new content such as images, music, text, and video based on the training. There are multiple approaches to generative AI that include Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), and Autoregressive models. Chat GPT and GPT 4 has shown the world how the idea of generative AI can be implemented in a real-life scenario and revolutionize age-old processes.There is no way to deny that are controversies and different opinions regarding AI democratization. The questions regarding the ethical use of AI are also lingering around the corner. Despite this, there is no way to deny that the immense potential of AI has just been started to get discovered--and it won't be an overstatement that this is just the tip of the iceberg.Currently, a prominent research field in AI is Artificial General Intelligence or AGI. It is a hypothetical AI system that can perform any intellectual task like a human. It will be able to reason, learn, perceive, understand natural language, and solve complex problems in an undistinguishable way from human intelligence. Achieving AGI will be the next great frontier in the AI-development space.There are different approaches to achieving AGI, including designing systems that are capable of self-improvement and developing algorithms able to learn from unstructured data. Many experts believe that AGI could be achieved in the coming decades but a majority of them believe that it is many years or even centuries away.
