I believe in the positive impact that effective application of the Basic Principles of Human Performance can have on work family members (our workforce, our people), but I also think that these five principles should be expanded to be more progressive in the prevention of events. The Basic Principles of Human Performance:· People make mistakes Error is human. No one is immune regardless of age, experience or educational level. People are the solution, not the problem. · Blame fixes nothing Blame takes up emotional and intellectual space with little value. Blame misdirects resources and strategies. Encouraging and supporting people achieves better results. · Learning and improving is vital Learning is a deliberate improvement strategy. The people on the job are the experts and best placed to share learnings about how work is done successfully. Britt HowardP
