For example, AI can help us design better products, optimize processes, enhance customer service, and discover new insights. AI can also enable us to do things that were previously impossible or too costly, such as exploring space, curing diseases, or creating art.History shows us that technological innovations often create more opportunities than they destroy. When computers became mainstream in the 20th century, people feared that they would take over our jobs and lives. But instead of replacing us, computers enhanced our productivity and efficiency and created new industries and markets, such as software development, e-commerce, and social media. Computers also generated more jobs than they eliminated, both directly and indirectly.Similarly, robotics has also changed the way we work and live. Robotics has automated many repetitive and dangerous tasks, such as manufacturing, mining, and agriculture. But robotics has also created new jobs for engineers, programmers, technicians, and operators, who design, build, maintain, and control robots. Robotics has also enabled us to explore new frontiers, such as the ocean floor, the Polar Regions, and other planets.Another recent example of technological innovation is cloud computing. Cloud computing has shifted the way we store and access data and applications from local servers to remote servers on the internet. This has reduced the need for some infrastructure-related jobs, such as hardware installation and maintenance. But cloud computing has also created new jobs for cloud engineers, developers, architects, and administrators who design, develop, deploy, and manage cloud-based services and solutions.Based on these historical examples, we can be confident that AI will follow a similar trajectory by eliminating some jobs but creating many more new ones. AI will also create new industries and markets that we cannot even imagine today. AI will also improve the productivity and quality of existing jobs by providing us with better tools, insights, and assistance.Of course, AI is not a magic solution that can solve all our problems. AI also poses some challenges and risks, such as ethical, social, legal, and economic issues. Therefore, we need to be aware of the potential impacts of AI and use it responsibly and wisely. One way to use AI responsibly and wisely is to leverage its power to help us achieve our own goals and aspirations. For example, my development team recently started to use GitHub Copilot, an AI-powered code assistant that helps us write code faster and better. GitHub Copilot uses OpenAI Codex, a deep learning system trained on billions of lines of public code. GitHub Copilot can suggest code snippets for various programming languages and frameworks based on our context and intent. After trying GitHub Copilot for a month, we found that it saved us a lot of time in coding. It also helped us improve the quality of our code by suggesting best practices, error handling, and documentation. GitHub Copilot is not perfect, though. Sometimes, it makes mistakes or gives irrelevant suggestions. Therefore, we still need to review the code carefully before accepting or rejecting the suggestions.Another example of how we use AI to achieve our goals is Microsoft Power Virtual Agents (now Copilot Studio), a platform that allows us to create chatbots for internal and external needs. Microsoft Power Virtual Agents enables us to build chatbots without writing any code (code-free) by using a graphical interface that guides us through the process. We experiment with Microsoft Power Virtual Agents to create chatbots for various purposes, such as answering FAQs and providing support. We can also train the chatbots with our own data to make them more relevant and accurate. As an alternative to implementing site-wide search functionality, we can leverage Microsoft PVA to crawl our pages (this PVA feature is called Generative AI). This enables us to offer a chatbot experience where visitors can ask questions and receive answers in a human-like language, all referencing the relevant pages on our website or our internal repositories. These are just a few examples of how we use AI to help us achieve our goals. We can use AI to enhance our lives and create new opportunities in many more ways. The key is to find the right tools and platforms that suit our needs and preferences.AI is a powerful technology that can transform the world for the better. But it is up to us to use it wisely and responsibly. By doing so, we can unleash the power of AI and unlock its full potential. AI is a powerful technology that can transform the world for the better. But it is up to us to use it wisely and responsiblyGil Brodsky
