| | JULY 20196CIOReviewIt's not far-fetched to state that small-sized businesses (SMBs) are the biggest beneficiaries of the ongoing cloud computing revolution. Rather than worrying about owning a data center or even traditional IT infrastructure, SMBs can simply rent the applications, processing power, and storage capacity they need from their cloud solution provider. By doing so, SMBs are able to significantly lower their ROI and optimize resources to the best of their abilities. Moreover, they can effectively explore newer functionalities on the cloud as and when they decide to scale their operations. A reliable cloud solution provider will also overtake the mundane tasks of maintenance and updates, further lowering the costs and tasks for an in-house IT team. While the virtual storage feature is the original value-add of the cloud, the technology has extended to popular cloud computing applications such as SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and IDaaS. By virtue of applications on the cloud, SMBs that previously struggled to afford expensive software and platforms are now able to function just as efficiently as a Fortune 500 company. For example, an SMB and a Fortune 500 company could very well be using the same functionalities of popular SaaS such as Salesforce.com, Adobe Creative Cloud, Slack, or DocuSign for their internal processes. As such, SMBs can provide superior customer service and elevate their level of product offerings, regardless of the industry. SMBs are starting to wholeheartedly adopt cloud solutions, whether private, public, or hybrid cloud solutions. And while the likes of Oracle, Microsoft, and Google are making it possible for enterprises to shift their processes to the cloud without the need for extensive technical assistance, organizations need reliable cloud solution providers that can comprehend every aspect of their business and build a customized solution. This back-and-forth exchange with a cloud solution provider will help an enterprise make a seamless transition to the cloud. After all, the new cloud solution must be aligned to their business processes and not disrupt their day-to-day operations. To find such a provider is a daunting task, given the number of solution providers in the marketplace. This edition of CIO Review is to aid SMBs and enterprises conduct a thorough search to find their ideal cloud solution provider.EditorialCloud Computing has Raised Ambition Levels Copyright © 2019 ValleyMedia, Inc.
