Considering that 2016 has been a year of change for Citrix, Synergy 2016 was eagerly awaited by both customers and prospects. The agenda was clear: "Make the extraordinary happen in your companies."From new products and services that accelerate digital transformation efforts by delivering a unified Workspace-as-a-Service (WaaS) to a closer partnership with Microsoft, Citrix's technology is helping modernize IT. Even before getting into the thick of things, the influence of cloud is apparent--Citrix will now deliver its entire portfolio as cloud-based services. Beside the cloud push, the company is also rolling out numerous new products, including XenDesktop 7.9 and XenApp 7.9, upgraded NetScaler, and a new management platform. Tatarinov also has plans to bolster Citrix's XenMobile mobility management offering with a "Mobile Application Management (MAM)-First approach."As part of the company's initiatives to provide better integration, scalability, and orchestration cloud capabilities, the new NetScaler CPX--packaged as a Linux-based Docker container--can be deployed using Docker command lines. This shift to DevOps in NetScaler is vital to bridging traditional IT infrastructure with modern applications. Organizations that are deploying DevOps can now run the delivery controller in a Docker container, together with the rest of the development environment. The more interesting of developments to come out of this year's conference is the extension of Citrix's partnership with Microsoft, which will see Citrix use Azure to deliver its new cloud offerings. Among other integrations that include Office 365 and Enterprise Mobility Suite, Citrix will offer Windows 10 Enterprise users the ability to manage their Windows 10 images on Azure via XenDesktop. As Citrix continues to evolve and catalyze the digital transformation, Citrix partners and solution providers have a key role to play in the overall ecosystem. At this juncture, CIOReview presents its special edition on Citrix Solution Providers, featuring insights from industry thought leaders and companies at the forefront of driving innovation in this arena. We hope this special edition will prove to be valuable in your enterprise journey.Jeevan George Managing Editoreditor@cioreview.comSay Yes to Innovation
