| | December 20166CIOReviewA year ago HP, a soup-to-nuts IT vendor covering everything from PCs and printers to servers and storage under one roof was split into two--Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Hewlett Packard Inc. CEO Meg Whitman engineered the split with an idea--smaller the better. At the company's recently held analyst meeting, Whitman portrayed HPE as a company that is more nimble and innovative to take on competition. "We regained the trust of our partners, customers and employees," She said adding, "Both companies have the focus and financial resources to respond to a constantly evolving market. If we had been together as one company we wouldn't have invested." HPE finds itself in a unique opportunity, as in many senses the company is like a startup--fresh for innovations. The company brings a new level of transformations to the businesses today with a comprehensive portfolio of IT solutions, support, and services that spans across IoT, big data, data center, cloud, cyber security, storage, HPC and more. According to Whiteman's strategy, HPE continues to aim for becoming a provider of hybrid IT built on next-generation software defined infrastructure to better run customers' data centers, connect them to multi-cloud environment, and help build intelligent network edge for IoT applications. The new HPE with its core software and services capabilities will be in a right position to achieve this vision, and also differentiate itself from the competitors. The company is also committed to offering expanded resources to its partners, to help them leverage HPE offerings and navigate the dynamic technology landscape with ease. The HPE Global Partner Conference-2016 highlighted the integration of competencies designed to help partners capture additional market share with a new and fully integrated Partner Ready Networking Program, a revamped Partner Ready Service Provider (PRSP) Program, as well as an updated suite of ready-made partner marketing resources. "HPE is an even more channel-focused organization committed to innovating new, collaborative solutions that enable growth for the company and our partners," said Whitman. "As we work to build and deploy the platforms and tools that accelerate global enterprises, we must work in unison with our partners to move our businesses further, faster."While the HPE landscape is replete with solution and service offerings and partners, finding the right combination of these resources that fit into the enterprises' unique requirement is often difficult. Our goal with this special edition is to help organizations address this difficulty.
