DISRUPT THYSELF!Government CIOs must hit the reset button and make the shift to leading the business of government. Now more than ever, we need to be `out front' by offering innovative ways to make government services more agile and frictionless. It's a pivot to `making' organizational strategy from the traditional being a `doer' of strategy, that traditionally, CIOs have been asked to do. Everything in life and in government now has a digital aspect. Whether it's producing data, has a sensor, or has intelligence baked into the solution, CIOs can no longer wait for the business to come to them for consultation. For government CIOs, this means being a shaper of organizational strategy and being involved. CIOs can express `what's possible', and this is precisely how our roles are evolving.Traditionally, CIOs have been relegated to aligning tech to the business strategy and calling it a good day. Today we must shift from strategy support to strategy creation.
