This phenomenon was probably due to `cloud computing' becoming a known phrase among the enterprises as it has created an immense impact in the industry to understand how businesses are run. However it has not yet reached its peak and enterprises have not yet utilized the fullest potential and are yet to explore more.The companies that knew the tricks of the trade and believed few years back that cloud computing will open up huge opportunities, have reaped the benefits of adopting the cloud model. For instance, cloud computing is producing a huge crop of successful companies. As per Bessemer Venture Partners' BVP Cloud Index, there are already 23 public cloud companies trading at more than $1 billion in market cap and 300 successful cloud startups; out of which, 16 have already hit a $1 billion valuation or are on the verge of it. Though the numbers are impressive, there are still a lot of companies that have not got into this league or their solutions have not got the attention of the CIOs. One of the biggest challenge for these vendors are CIOs who have still not moved away from the traditional mindset as many believe that it is an alternative to existing systems and as a result they miss the disruptive potential of the cloud technology. There is still a burning need to educate and make most of them aware about the solutions available in the market and how it can be integrated to the existing ecosystem for better efficiency. With large numbers of cloud providers in the market, it is often a challenging process for CIOs to locate the best-fitting one.
