For organizations that embrace it, the rewards will be substantial: more simplicity, greater agility, improved speed, and lower costs. Above all, it's an opportunity to transform the way they do business. Simply put, this is going to be the New Style of IT and it can help organizations achieve better business outcomes. New Style of IT is HP's vision, to enable customers to navigate a rapidly changing IT landscape. In the words of HP chief executive Meg Whitman, what's emerging isn't just a New Style of IT, "it's a new approach to business, powered by IT." She describes that HP Enterprise's mission will be to help companies "get from traditional IT--and by the way, run that traditional IT better--but to get from there to the new style of IT characterized by cloud and security and big data and mobility." Enterprises are looking for help from trusted advisors to understand how they can navigate this brave new world. And they need comprehensive solutions that solve their toughest business problems, not just a set of disparate IT assets. This is where HP wants to have its play. Hewlett-Packard Enterprise, even as half of today's HP, will be a Fortune 50 company. It has got all that modern enterprises require: Infrastructure lines including servers, storage, and networking, and its services. In software, it offers a range of IT operations tools such as system and network management, testing tools, security software, and app lifecycle management, as well as the analytics offerings. "At HP I think we are well-positioned to address the challenges and opportunities of this new market paradigm. Our heritage and DNA of supporting open systems and partnering, along with our critical mass in hardware, software and services, are tremendous assets to have," notes Whitman. This New Style of IT, which Whitman and her team at HP envisions, is indeed going to be a transformational shift bridging the consumer and enterprise experience, and will have almost unprecedented reach and impact.
